Why I practice this way.
Most people arrive having been told very little about their own mouth. They know a filling is needed, or that something hurts, but not what is actually happening, what it will take, or what happens if they wait. That gap is where dental anxiety lives, and it is almost always avoidable.
So the first appointment here is mostly looking and explaining. Photographs, imaging where it is due, gum measurements, a check of every tooth and every existing restoration. Then a written plan, sequenced by what genuinely needs doing first, and an honest note about what can reasonably wait.
On implants specifically
My post-doctoral training at Texas Implant Institute was in advanced implantology, and it shaped how I run these cases: staged, imaged, and verified before each next step. Bone integration cannot be rushed, and the temptation to load an implant early is exactly how implants fail. If a case needs a graft first, we graft, wait, confirm with imaging, and then place.
It also shaped what I say no to. Some cases belong with an oral surgeon or a periodontist, and telling you that is a better outcome than treating at the edge of what I should.
Outside the practice
I am a North Carolina native and an unreformed UNC fan. My family and I have been in the Woodlands area since 2018, long enough to have opinions about Houston restaurants, a habit of ending up at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and a weakness for Galveston, the Hill Country and renovation projects I underestimate.

Mostly the pace. Longer appointments, diagnosis before treatment, and a written plan you can take home and read before anything is agreed. The practice has looked after families on Louetta Road for years — what changed is how a visit is run, not who it is for.
